– Choose For Profitability

Your objective is to be a profitable forex trader, not to make your desk look like the flight deck of the space shuttle !

No amount of super high tech trading software with 4+ screens is ever going to improve your profitability.

However some people prefer to use a standalone trading platform because that’s what they were trained on, or perhaps because it offers more functionality than the broker’s trading platform.

Do bear in mind that using a stand alone forex trading platform will incur some extra cost, whereas your broker won’t charge you for using their in-house platform.

You really need to consider whether there is any additional benefit to your trading in choosing your own trading platform. We’ve tried a few different standalone forex platforms but always found ourselves going
back to our broker’s platform.

The best forex platform for you will be a matter of personal preference, but here a few of the trading platforms we’ve tried along the way;

To be perfectly honest we really didn’t get along with this particular trading platform.

It may well have fantastic functionality with more capabilities than any trader will ever need but we just found that driving it took so much effort that it took our concentration off what we supposed to be doing, namely trading.

Even after several days with it, we still seemed to be fighting against it to perform even simple tasks on the charts such as adding, amending and removing trend lines.

In the end we just gave up. We accept that some people will be devotees of Tradient Pro, but not us !

Once you get your head around it however (preferably with the help of an experienced friend) Trade Station is actually quite good and relatively easy to use.

We suspect however, that you will find yourself switching off or not bothering with the added functionality, in favour of just keeping your screen simple so that you can focus on what you’re doing.
